In an effort to improve my side dish game, I found this recipe on These cold winter days seeing the perfect time for a hearty soup. I made mine slightly differently than the recipe.

I fried 4 strips of bacon and set them aside. I fried the leaks in the Bacon fat and then proceeded with the rest of the recipe. Additionally I added the chopped bacon bits to the finished soup. I also prepared cheddar crisps in place of crackers which made the perfect side kick.
